CuppaSugar helps neighbors support each other through simple acts of kindness and sharing. To keep our community safe, helpful, and welcoming, please follow these guidelines.

General Principles

• Be kind and respectful to your neighbors
• Keep interactions focused on helping and sharing
• Respect everyone's privacy and personal boundaries
• Use the app for its intended purpose: neighborhood assistance

Prohibited Content

Personal Safety

• No harassment, bullying, or threatening behavior
• No hate speech or discrimination
• No personal attacks or hostile language
• No sharing of others' private information

Inappropriate Content

• No adult or sexually explicit content
• No graphic violence or gore
• No illegal activities or substances
• No offensive language or profanity

Images

• Photos should only show items related to your ask/help
• No photos of people without their explicit consent
• No inappropriate, offensive, or explicit images
• Images must be clear and accurately represent the item

Privacy & Safety

• Don't share exact home addresses publicly
• No soliciting personal information
• No sharing of private messages without permission
• Don't share contact information in public posts

Asks and Responses

When Creating Asks

• Be specific about what you need
• Be honest and accurate in your descriptions
• Use appropriate photos that show the item clearly
• Keep requests reasonable and neighborhood-appropriate

When Responding

• Be helpful and constructive
• Respond only if you can genuinely help
• Keep responses relevant to the ask
• Be clear about your ability to help

Unacceptable Behavior

Commercial Activity

• No business promotion or advertising
• No selling or buying
• No professional services
• No fundraising or donation requests

Misuse

• No spam or repeated identical posts
• No fake or misleading content
• No impersonating others
• No using the app for dating or personal relationships

Enforcement

Reporting

• Use the report button for concerning content
• Reports are reviewed within 24 hours
• All reports are kept confidential
• Multiple reports may result in immediate action

Consequences

• First violation: Warning
• Second violation: Temporary suspension
• Serious violations: Immediate account suspension
• Multiple serious violations: Permanent ban

Appeals

• Suspended users can appeal through support
• Appeals are reviewed within 48 hours
• Decisions on appeals are final

• Complete your profile
• Use clear, recent photos of items
• Communicate clearly and promptly
• Follow through on commitments

Safety Tips

• Meet in public places when possible
• Don't share sensitive personal information
• Trust your instincts
• Report suspicious behavior
